Stats2CSV

Privacy policy

Effective date: November 13, 2025

Stats2CSV is committed to protecting researcher, analyst, and participant data. This policy explains what we collect, how we process uploads, and the choices you have regarding cookies and advertising.

1. File processing and retention

  • Uploaded files are transferred over HTTPS and stored in an isolated processing bucket.
  • Files are processed solely for conversion to CSV or XLSX.
  • Unless you explicitly opt in for diagnostic review, original uploads and converted outputs are automatically deleted immediately after your download completes.
  • If a conversion fails and you request help, we may ask for a sample file. Providing that file is optional and should be anonymised whenever possible.

2. Personal information

  • We do not require an account to use Stats2CSV and do not collect names, addresses, or payment details.
  • If you contact us by email, we store your message and address solely for support purposes.
  • We never sell, rent, or trade personal information with third parties.

3. Cookies and consent

  • Essential cookies remember your consent choices and ensure the site functions.
  • Optional analytics and advertising cookies (including those from Google AdSense) are only enabled if you click “Accept All” in the cookie banner.
  • You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner toggle stored in localStorage.

4. Advertising

  • Stats2CSV displays Google AdSense adverts in clearly labelled, fixed-height slots outside the converter, ensuring they never obstruct primary actions.
  • When you accept advertising cookies, Google may personalise ads according to its own policies. Review Google’s personalised ads documentation for details.
  • You can opt out of personalised ads by declining advertising cookies in our banner or by configuring preferences in your Google account.

5. Analytics

  • We use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics to understand site performance.
  • Analytics data is anonymised and never combined with uploaded files.
  • Rejecting analytics cookies disables this tooling without impacting access to the converter.

6. Data residency

  • Processing currently occurs in EU-based infrastructure with disaster recovery in the same region.
  • If you require regional isolation (e.g., EU-only), please contact us before uploading production datasets.

7. Security measures

  • Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest during processing.
  • Access to processing infrastructure is restricted to authorised engineers with multi-factor authentication.
  • We regularly review dependencies and infrastructure for vulnerabilities.

8. Children’s data

  • Stats2CSV is not intended for use by individuals under 16. Do not upload datasets containing children’s personal data without explicit guardian or regulatory authorisation.

9. Your rights

  • You may request confirmation that we have deleted uploads associated with your session.
  • If you provided an email address for support, you can request its removal once the conversation is resolved.
  • For GDPR, CCPA, or other data rights queries, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Contact

  • For privacy-related inquiries, please use our contact form and include "Privacy request" in the subject line for faster routing.

We may update this policy to reflect infrastructure changes or new regulations. Material updates will be announced on this page with a revised effective date.
